In response to the ongoing pandemic, the Jacobs School of Music Office of Admissions and Financial Aid is adapting our audition procedures for 2021-2022 admissions to meet state and university guidelines related to COVID-19.
In response to the ongoing pandemic, the Jacobs School of Music Office of Admissions and Financial Aid is adapting our audition procedures for 2021-2022 admissions to meet state and university guidelines related to COVID-19.
Many of our programs require you to submit prescreen recordings and/or materials. These are due on December 1, 2020, and must be uploaded and submitted to your Jacobs School of Music Supplemental Application.
This year, most department auditions will be held online, either via recorded audition, live virtual audition/interview, or both. Requirements for each department vary; please visit your area's audition page for more information.
Final recorded auditions must be video recordings and are due byFebruary 1, 2021.
Note: All classical piano applicants must submit their recorded auditions by January 15, 2021.
Step 1: Submit your JSOM Supplemental application by December 1, 2020.
Step 2: Submit your recorded audition by February 1, 2021. We will reopen your application after December 1 and advise you on how to submit your recordings. Some departments may also schedule a live virtual audition/ interview. We will communicate via email to schedule those events.

At this time, on-campus auditions are highly limited and available for select departments only. If your department is offering on-campus auditions, you will be expected to meet university guidelines related to COVID-19, as listed on the IU's campus visitors guidance page.
Please note, the availability of on-campus auditions for these departments are dependent on the progress of the pandemic and updating guidelines, and are subject to change at any time. If this happens, the Jacobs School Office of Admissions will contact you to arrange an alternative audition.
A complete Indiana University and Jacobs School of Music application must be on file before an audition will be evaluated.
