BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Five faculty members from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music have been chosen to receive the IU Trustees’ Teaching Award for the 2019-20 academic year.
The university-wide Trustees’ Teaching Awards are bestowed before the completion of each academic year to tenured and tenure-track faculty who have demonstrated their excellence in teaching.
Their applications for the $2,500 award are reviewed by a selection committee of peers.
The school’s 2020 award recipients are:
- Brenda Brenner, associate professor of music (music education); chair, music education
- Carolann Buff, assistant professor of music (choral conducting)
- Kimberly Carballo, academic specialist; coordinating opera coach (IU Opera Theater)
- Peter Miksza, associate professor of music (music education)
- John Raymond, assistant professor of music (jazz studies–trumpet)

The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs, along with the Office of the Provost, will hold a reception in the fall honoring all of this year’s recipients of the IU Trustees’ Teaching Awards.
