FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music is pleased to announce the appointment of Dinara Klinton as associate professor of music in piano, effective Aug. 1.

A winner of numerous international competitions, Klinton has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Berliner Philharmonie and Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory. Her concerto engagements include orchestras such as the Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic and Lucerne Symphony.

She is also a dedicated educator and has combined her performance career with faculty positions at the Royal College of Music and the Yehudi Menuhin School.

“As one of the most vibrant performers and teachers of piano today, Dinara Klinton will offer invaluable insights to our students,” said Abra Bush, David Henry Jacobs Bicentennial Dean. “We eagerly anticipate her contributions to the legacy of our piano department and school.”

A native of Kharkiv, Ukraine, Klinton has also received widespread critical acclaim as a recording artist, including for her album “Franz Liszt’s Études d’exécution transcendante,” which was selected by BBC Music Magazine as Recording of the Month.

Among her other recordings are “Mily Balakirev: Piano Concerto No. 1” (Dabringhaus und Grimm, 2022), “Prokofiev Complete Piano Sonatas” (Piano Classics, 2021) and her debut album, “Music of Chopin and Liszt,” which she recorded at age 16 on the Delos label.

“The Jacobs Piano Department is elated to welcome Dinara Klinton to our faculty,” said Norman Krieger, department chair. “She has established herself as one of the most sought-after concert pianists of her generation as she regularly performs all over the world with renowned orchestras and conductors.”
