Kenneth C. Whitener Ballet Fund
Established in 1997 with the assistance of visiting lecturer Joseph Palla, the fund recognizes the outstanding contributions of the Ballet Department's faculty and students to the IU Jacobs School of Music. Whitener commented on IU's Ballet department, "Once you've attended some performances, and have gotten to know the students, faculty, and what's going on in the program, it's easy to lend your support."
Mr. Whitener, who received his BS in 1972, is a Chicago-based banker. He hopes his gift, the first endowment to benefit the Ballet Department, will inspire other members of the audience to support music education and the performing arts.
