Louise Margaret Roth Memorial Scholarship Fund
Louise Margaret Roth, the daughter of Charles William and Emma (Froelich) Roth, was born January 31, 1910 in Evansville, Indiana. After graduating from Evansville College (now University of Evansville), she taught high school and worked at the Republic Aviation Plant. In 1949 she graduated from Purdue University with a Master of Science degree in chemistry. She remained at Purdue, working as a chemical technologist and crystal grower at the university. Ms. Roth retired to Bloomington, Indiana, where she volunteered at Bloomington Hospital. An accomplished pianist and cellist, she regularly attended IU Jacobs School of Music productions.
The Louise Magaret Roth Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1977. The scholarship is awarded annually to string players at IU Jacobs School of Music.
