Gayl W. Doster Scholarship in Music
Gayl W. Doster is originally from Fremont, Indiana, and graduated from the IU Kelley School of Business in 1960. During his time at IU, he also was a member of the Marching Hundred, other musical organizations, and is a life member of Kappa Kappa Psi. He has served on the board of Friends of Music at the Jacobs School. Gayl W. Doster enjoyed his student years as a member of the Marching Hundred, and wishes to assist students to more fully engage in the same experience.
He rose through the ranks in his early career and served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Brooks Drug, Inc. He was also a past president of the Indiana Society to Prevent Blindness, a past president of the Indiana CPA Society, and a past treasurer of the Indiana Chi Phil Alumni Association, contributing to the financing and construction of the Bloomington Chi Phi fraternity house in the 1960's. He has also served on the board for Music for All.
The Gayl W. Doster Scholarship is awarded to students playing the Baritone horn in the Marching Hundred whose major field of study is not music.
