Susann McDonald Fund
Susann McDonald served as artistic director of the World Harp Congress since its inception and is honorary president of the Association Internationale des Harpistes in Paris, France. McDonald studied at the Paris Conservatory and was the first American to receive the prestigious Premier Prix de Harpe. Her teachers include Marie Ludwig, Lily Laskine, and Henriette Renie. She is a former faculty member and former chair of the harp departments at the Juilliard School, University of Southern California, University of Arizona, and California State University at Los Angeles.
Ms. McDonald teaches frequent master classes in leading conservatories throughout the world, including Paris, Verona, Granada, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, China, Brazil, and Villars, Switzerland. She serves as adjudicator of international harp competitions and is founder of the USA International Harp Competition.
The Jacobs School of Music is honored to use the Susann McDonald Fund in support of the International Harp Competition hosted by the Jacobs School of Music.
