Composition Department Fund
The Composition Department at IU Jacobs School of Music ranks among the top institutions of its kind in the world. The program is committed to its students, ranging around 50 including undergraduates and graduates, each receiving weekly private lessons with the artist faculty. The department strives to provide the best environment, stimulation, training, and opportunities for young composers as teachers and mentors.
Many graduates of the Jacobs Composition program have been successful, winning recognition in competitions, receiving commissions and performances, and finding placement in the academic and professional world.
The Composition Department Fund is used towards general support and activities of the Composition Department in the Jacobs School of Music, which may include, but not limited to, student travel for performance, release of student recordings, commissions from alumni, guest artists and lecturers, out of town concerts, projects of Student Composers Association, marketing, binding equipment/supplies, printing, and other office expenses.
