Strings Department Fund
Students from around the world come to Bloomington to study violin, viola, cello, or double bass at the Jacobs School of Music. Each faculty member maintains a studio of 16+ students, who each have individual weekly lessons.
The Strings Department holds four to five solo competitions each year: two in violin, one in viola, and one in cello, as well as one in double bass every other year.
The graduates of the program can be found in every major orchestra in the United States and Canada, as well as chamber groups who perform internationally. Many graduates hold positions as teachers and professors.
The Strings Department Fund is used for the general support of the strings department at the Jacobs School of Music.
