Mauricio Fuks is distinguished professor emeritus of music in violin at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
He studied with Ilia Fidlon, Joseph Fuchs, Ivan Galamian, and Jascha Heifetz and won the first Young Concert Artists Competition in 1964. He has performed as concertmaster, chamber musician, and soloist throughout Europe, North America, and South America.
Fuks has taught master classes in schools and festivals throughout the world and is a regular visiting professor at the Yehudi Menuhin School, Royal Academy of Music, Reina Sofia School, Mozarteum, and Irish World Music Centre.
He has served as a jury member for many international competitions, was featured in The Strad magazine in March 1993, and is an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music.
