Amanda R. Draper is assistant professor of music in music education at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Prior to her appointment, she was part of the music education faculty in the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University.
Her academic interests include investigating musical experiences for diverse learners with a focus on music and autism research, disability studies in music, and teacher preparation for special music education.
Draper has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally, and has articles published in the Journal of Research in Music Education and Music Educators Journal.
A general music specialist, she previously taught elementary and middle school general music for 10 years, most recently for Chicago Public Schools.
Draper earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a master’s degree and doctorate in music education from Northwestern University.
