Crabb Band

The IU Crabb Band — named for Chuck Crabb, Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities — is a select athletic band comprised of Marching Hundred members that performs for IU men's and women's soccer games. This paid, professional group is selected via audition at the beginning of the fall semester. The Crabb Band is important not only to the Department of Bands, but the IU Athletic Department as well. Members are expected to treat their status in the group as a professional commitment.

Instrumentation for Crabb Band is as follows:
3 Horns
5 Trumpets
5 Trombones
1 Baritone
3 Sousaphones
3 percussion

Auditions for the group (which include prepared music from the current marching season as well as sight-reading) are held in early September. You MUST be a member of the current Marching Hundred to audition for the Crabb Band.
