Collection & Resources
Due to the overwhelming demand from the general public to answer queries regarding Latin American Music which often times fall outside the scope of our mission to advance and provide highly specialized research on the topic, we can no longer offer research services to the general public. A list of general sources can be found below. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Individuals interested in browsing or researching our collection should be aware that with few exceptions, the holdings of the LAMC collection are part of the William and Gayle Cook Music Library collection. There is no separate facility hosting exclusively the LAMC collection. Therefore, you may access general information about the holdings of the LAMC (composer, title, publishing information, availability, etc.) by searching through the Online Catalogue of Indiana University (IUCAT). Please consult IUCAT before making any requests to the Center. Patrons may visit the collection during library hours.
The LAMC is currently in the process of making a list of composers represented in the collection. As the archive contains thousands of works by hundreds of composers, this is an ongoing process that should be completed by Spring 2017. To see the current page, please click on the following link:

You can also find a list of resources by following the links below. These resources aim to provide the general public, as well as musicians, with sources of information about Latin American music (popular, traditional, and art music). Call numbers correspond to those found at the William and Gayle Cook Music Library unless otherwise specified. Please note that these sections have not been updated and will soon be retired by Spring 2017 and replaced with new sections for researchers and students.
