Prior to his appointment to the Jacobs School of Music faculty, Thomas Wieligman served as the school's executive administrator of instrumental ensembles and special performance activity since February 1997. In his current position, he maintains responsibilities for six orchestras, three concert bands, four jazz ensembles, and one new music ensemble as well as direct oversight of the Jacobs Summer Music series. Wieligman also supervises the construction of all orchestral programs and serves as stage/production manager for special events in the Musical Arts Center, where he was also house manager from February 2000 to June 2003. As bass or tenor trombonist, he has performed with various American orchestras and was solo bass trombonist for the Orchestra Sinfonica della Radiotelevisione Italiana di Torino, Italia, from July 1985 to August 1991. He was a doctoral resident in bass trombone at Jacobs from 1991 to 1996.
