2. Pay tuition and housing fees in full by May 29, 2020 to secure your spot in the Saxophone Academy

Application Fee (non-refundable): $70*
Tuition: $575
Room & Board: $410
Commuter Meal Card (for those NOT living in the dorm): $150 - this card is optional, all the dorms accept cash or credit card as forms of payment for meals

*Your registration will not be confirmed until the $70 registration fee is paid.

Saxophone Academy participants stay in a double room (with roommate) in Read Dormitory. Read Dormitory includes air conditioning, sheets, a pillow, a pillowcase, and a towel. Blankets available only upon request. Coin-operated laundry facilities available for personal use. Three meals are served daily. Televisions are not allowed in individual rooms. Adult counselors are resident in the dorm.

Staying Off-Campus
  • Saxophone Academy participants may stay off campus; however, Academy participants must stay with a parent or guardian. Click on "Visiting" in the left menu for travel information and list of accommodations in Bloomington.

  • Participants staying off-campus may purchase a commuter meal card if he/she wishes to eat meals with on-campus participants. He/she also has the option to pay with cash or credit card for each meal.

  • Off-campus participants under age 18 are the responsibility of the established legal guardian. A drop-off and collect time has to be settled in advance with our staff. The agreed drop-off and collect time should be convenient to the daily schedule.

  • Transportation to the Indiana University campus is the responsibility of the designated legal guardian.

  • At no time can a participant under age 18 be dropped on the Indiana University campus and left unattended. The participant must be handed-off from the legal guardian to a Saxophone counselor.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing to the Director, cc' the Office of Special Programs, and are subject to the following deadlines and fees;

-Cancellations prior to 5 days before arrival incur a $200 cancellation penalty (this includes the $70 non-refundable registration fee plus processing fees). Any remaining fees paid (minus the $200 cancellation charge) will be refunded.

-Cancellations less than 5 days prior to arrival will not receive a refund except in the case of a documented emergency.

-No refunds will be offered for dismissal due to violation of Summer Saxophone Academy, Indiana University, state, or federal rules, early departure due to homesickness; voluntary withdrawal or temporary absence.

When circumstances necessitating withdrawal are beyond the student’s control (e.g., serious illness, or death in the student’s family), exceptions to the above policy may be made on the recommendation of the Directors.

The Jacobs School of Music reserves the right to cancel a workshop if enrollment is not met. Participants will be informed 2 weeks before the start of the workshop and receive a full refund.
