Creative Movement

This series of classes introduces students to the study of dance in a fun and supportive environment.

The class is an age-appropriate introduction to ballet using music and rhythm to develop coordination, athleticism, focus, and confidence. All classes have live piano accompaniment and incorporate songs, stories, and movement activities which will support your child's natural creativity and joy in movement.

Dress code

Girls

For all levels of creative movement, students may wear any color or style leotard with NO attached skirt or tutu; any color tights; and pink ballet shoes. No skirts, short tutus, or other creative expressions of self are permitted for regular classes: they will be allowed on specially designated days at the discretion of the teacher.

Boys

For all levels of creative movement, boys should wear asolid color t-shirt (with no designs or lettering); black tights or black close-fitting sweatpants, athletic pants, or black long bicycle shorts; and black ballet shoes.

Introduction to Ballet

Introduction to Ballet is designed to transition young girls and boys from Creative Movement to the more formal structure of a ballet class including barre and center work.

Ballet fundamentals, beginning terminology, and classroom etiquette are introduced while nurturing the child's self-confidence, sense of artistry, and exploration of movement. All classes have live piano accompaniment.

To enroll, your child must be age 6 by August 1.

Class schedule

Classes are on Saturdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The tuition is $340 per semester.

Dress code

Girls

Please wear a light pink leotard with NO attached skirt or tunic; light pink tights; and pink ballet shoes. No dance skirts or tutus are permitted for regular classes. They will be allowed on specially designated days at the discretion of the teacher.

Boys

Please wear a white t-shirt, black tights; black close-fitting sweatpants, athletic pants, or long bicycle shorts; and black ballet shoes.
