World-class musical education for children

Whether you have a budding musician, a young vocalist, or a ballet dancer in the making, our pre-college program offers exceptional training opportunities that help them develop their skills in a fun and challenging environment.

Your child will learn from actual Jacobs faculty members and students who have a passion for teaching children. They’ll practice in the same world-class facilities that our college students do. And they’ll perform on stage in our gorgeous performance halls as part of their academic program.

Explore the programs we have to offer and you’re sure to find one that will help make your child’s musical dreams come true.

Pre-college programs for every goal

We offer both academic year and summer programs.

Our academic year programs follow the university calendar and are broken up into two semsters; fall and spring. They feature weekly lessons and annual recitals.

Our summer programs offer a more immersive experience, often meeting for several days a week or more—some are full-day classes.

Tuition and financial aid

Each pre-college program has its own tuition schedule. However, there is a $15 registration fee, regardless of what type of class you are enrolling your student in.

Refunds are only available to students who withdraw by the second class and will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Four programs also offer financial aid: ballet, choir, piano, and strings.

Important parking information

Much of the parking at Indiana University is by permit only. If you are parked illegally you will be ticketed and towed.

If your child attends classes after 5 p.m. on weekdays or on the weekends, you can take advantage of a number free parking options. For the most parking flexibility, though, you should purchase a permit—which you can get for as little as $27.
