Timothy Jones is visiting lecturer in music in chamber and collaborative music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Jones was previously a piano faculty member at Rocky Ridge Music Center, Cormont Horn Camp, and Sonata Piano Camps, where he taught solo piano lessons, coached chamber groups and collaborative duos, and performed both solo and chamber music repertoire.
His collaborative work includes performances with faculty and students in major academic institutions as well as appearances with members of leading orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He has also been engaged as a collaborative pianist for several guest artist recital tours, recently visiting the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Jones was a quarterfinalist in the 2025 National Chopin Competition and won first prize in the Sydney Wright Collaborative Piano Competition the same year. He holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
