Sachet Watson is diversity and inclusion coordinator in the Office of Inclusion, Equity, Diversity & Justice at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and the IU Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design.
Originally from Indianapolis, Watson was born and raised in Indiana and is a proud IU Bloomington alumna. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs in Legal Studies degree at IU in June 2012 before completing her Master of Science in Higher Education degree at The Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Watson’s experience includes student conduct, mock interview and resume critique, residence life, curriculum development, crisis care management, and social justice education. She most recently served as assistant director of the Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion in the IU School of Public Health. She has presented at several national conferences on various social justice topics, such as access for first-generation college students and institutional inclusion.
Among her interests are social justice in higher education, representation, intersectional feminism, social justice education, advocacy for students of color, and decolonizing the academy. She is a firm believer in inclusive excellence and the idea that inclusion is active, intentional, and ongoing engagement with all members of the community.
Watson is a self-taught freelance graphic designer and a former violinist.
