Young Pianists Program
Spring Semester 2010: January 11 - May 8
Dr. Karen Taylor, Director

Dr. Karen Taylor, Director of the Indiana University
Piano Academy and Young Pianists Program, welcomes all prospective
students and families to the 2009 Fall Semester of the Young Pianists Program. The Young Pianists Program is open to any students who enjoy music and want to learn to play the piano. Our talented faculty have extensive pre-college training and work with students in one-on-one lessons, either two 30-minute lessons or one 60-minute lesson per week. The curriculum is customized to serve everyone from serious pre-professionals to those who want to pursue piano as a hobby. All students play in a recital each semester.
Also available are Saturday morning theory classes for students ages 9 to 18 (students don't need to be already enrolled in the Young Pianists Program to enroll in the theory class). Transfer and beginner students are welcome. Auditions are not required, but new students may be asked to have a placement interview. Students who have been enrolled in Young Pianists for at least one semester are eligible to apply for a limited financial aid and/or artistic merit scholarship.
Important Dates:
New student application deadline: January 7, 2010. New students should contact Dr. Taylor directly to register. Late applications will be accepted on a space-available basis.
Returning student application deadline: January 4, 2010.
Financial Aid application deadline: January 4, 2010.
Artistic Merit scholarship application deadline: January 4, 2010.
Please note: Students must have attended Young Pianists for one semester to be eligible for financial aid. There are no full-tuition scholarships available. Award amounts generally range from 10-30% of tuition fees. In rare cases, a student may receive up to 50% of tuition.
