Student singers:

The workshop is seeking male singers ranging from college freshman to doctoral students. Singers must be currently enrolled as full-time students to participate. Preference will be given to singers who are flexible and willing to work positively with master class teachers.

Audition materials: Applicants should send an audio recording of their singing on a CD. The recording should contain three selections that show the singer’s vocal and interpretive range. The applicant should also ask his current teacher to fill out the Student Singer Questionnaire [PDF] or [Word Document] and send it to vocalped@indiana.edu.

No money should be sent to the workshop until the singer is chosen for a student singer position.

Applications for Student Singers will close May 1, 2009 and singers will be contacted no later than May 18, 2009. Those who are chosen should then send in a $70.00 deposit to secure their place on the workshop roster and will receive instructions for payment of the workshop fee and reservation of dormitory space if desired.

Notification of your acceptance will be communicated within two weeks after the receipt of your audition materials. Late applications will be accepted on the basis of available space.

For questions about fee payment, account balance, housing, registration, parking decals, etc., please contact: Office of Special Programs.

The Jacobs School of Music reserves the right to cancel a workshop if enrollment is not met. Participants will be informed a month before the start for the workshop and receive a full refund.
