What participants had to say about the 2007 Vocal Performance & Teaching Workshop Teaching Men to Sing and the 2008 workshop Teaching Sopranos:
"This is the most fantastic course I have ever taken on vocal pedagogy"
"Paul Kiesgen delivered his pedagogy sessions with grace and ease. Very useful and worthwhile seminar."
"I found Paul to have a very clear manner of explaining the complex ideas, and I was glad to be updated on several things."
"I feel as though I have a better understanding how I as a soprano, can effectively and efficiently teach male voices."
"I used those new techniques for my adult male students. It was just amazing that I was speaking the "male" language. They left my studio very happy! I have a better understanding of the female voice now too. I hope this technique stays with me."
"The master class sessions were fantastic."
"I believe that participation in this seminar on male vocal pedagogy has been one of the most worthwhile education opportunities that I have ever had."
"One of the most comprehensive seminars on singing I have ever attended. I have been to two international congresses and most NATS conventions, but this surpasses all of them."
“The master teachers were wonderful teaching models.”
“I especially appreciated the diversity of clinicians. This has broadened my understanding about approaching vocal and performance issues in a variety of ways.”
“I appreciated the broad survey of information presented in the morning sessions, the presentations were thoughtfully and expertly delivered.”
“I have grown in my knowledge in more ways than I can say because of this week. I am more confident, more creative, more inspired, more excited and more solid in my musical beliefs than I have ever been before.”
“I was deeply encouraged as a singer, actress and teacher through this experience. I don’t think I have ever been in such a supportive, positive environment. Thank you so much.”
I attended your "Teaching Sopranos" workshop this past summer. Shortly afterward, I was interviewed by Shorter College in Rome, Georgia for a full time visiting assistant professorship. I was asked for a live interview, which consisted of a day's worth of meetings, interviews, teaching demonstration, and vocal audition. Without a doubt, your seminar helped me to succeed. I feel that I utilized your skills and the skills of the master teachers to become a more successful interviewee. I feel that my time and tuition money for your program was very well spent and would very much like to attend your "Teaching Men" seminar this summer. Thank you for all of the information that you were able to bestow upon us and for your pleasant demeanor throughout the week. It was a very good experience all around."- Kirsten C. Kunkle, DMA
