Spending a week in Bloomington with Profs. Klug, Cohen, and Mandat was a really great experience for me and my clarinet. Learning in an
environment with other clarinet enthusiasts made it even better!
Looking back on my experience, I think the workshop made me a much more consistent player. I especially benefited from having not just one, but three or more suggestions and opinions about my playing.

I wanted to let you know that I had a wonderful time at the workshop and I learned a lot. I felt it was very effective and well planned. I appreciated the lessons you taught me and found your school a wonderful place to come to.

My week at Indiana University was extremely beneficial to my playing.
Not only did I learn an immense amount of valuable clarinet information, but I had an opportunity to meet and become friends with a large group of clarinetists from throughout the country. My favorite part would have to be the individual lessons. I found these to be the most helpful, for I find one on one playing time the most beneficial.
However, I enjoyed the group lessons as well.

I must say that the clarinet workshop was one of the best things that I've done for myself and my musicianship in a long time. I have continued to be motivated, energized, and focused in my practicing this summer. I feel that I'm able to meet my goals and that the excellent teaching to which we were subject in the workshop enabled me to assess my strengths and weaknesses in a new way, which has shown me where I want to go with the clarinet in the future. After being in college for five years, there is a threat of getting "comfortable" with the place in which one finds oneself, and that feeling is contrary to future improvement if the individual doesn't seek out opportunities or new ways to improve. For me, the workshop was exactly what I needed. I have been using the materials and suggestions that I gained from the experience, and I've seen great improvements already. I feel like I'm learning the clarinet again for the first time, and it's so energizing.
Thanks to Professors Klug, Cohen and Mandat for your outstanding contributions.
