How to Apply

  • Returning Students and Creative Movement Students:

    • Please download and send in all forms with total tuition to the address provided.
    • Registration & tuition are due January 4, 2010.
    • You may pay for your child’s classes by cash, check (written to Indiana University), or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express).
    • Any student or family with an outstanding balance for any Pre-College Music Program will not be allowed to register for Pre-College classes.

    New Students ages 3 and up*:

    If your child is between the ages of 3 and 6, please register him/her for one of the four Creative Movement classes:

    1. Creative Movement I: Ages 3 - 4
    2. Creative Movement II: Ages 4 - 5
    3. Creative Movement III: Ages 5 - 6
    4. Ballet I (beginning ballet): Age 6
    5. Students ages 7-8 with no previous training should register for Ballet I (students with previous training, please see below).

    These students should not come to the Open Registration for new students. Please send in registration via mail. If you have any questions about the proper placement for your child, please contact Doricha Sales or at (812) 855-6148.

    *New Students ages 7 and up WITH previous ballet training:
    New Students ages 9 and up WITHOUT previous ballet training:

    • must come to Open Registration on TBA between 5:30 & 7:00 pm.
    • Open Registration will be held in the Ballet Department on the 3rd floor of the Musical Arts Center.
    • Students will be asked to participate in a placement class to best determine their level.
    • Students on pointe should bring their pointe shoes.

    Financial Aid

    Deadline for Financial Aid applications: January 4, 2010.
    Need-based consideration is based on an annual family income of $35,000 or less.

    Steps for applying for aid:

    • CLICK HERE to download and complete the Need-Based Financial Aid application.
    • Send completed forms, a copy of your most recent tax return (Form W2), and $10.00 application fee to the address on the form by January 4, 2010. DO NOT send financial aid forms to Ballet Dept.
    • Send in registration materials with $15.00 registration fee.
    • Financial aid recipients will receive a letter in the mail prior to the student beginning classes. Any tuition not covered by financial aid will be due immediately or the child will not be allowed to continue classes.
    • If you are applying for financial assistance, you must send in the registration fee of $15.00 with your registration; those without a paid registration fee will not be considered for financial aid.
    • Please note that no child will be able to register for any Pre-College Ballet classes that has an outstanding balance for any Pre-College Music Program.
    • Need-based financial aid is only available to U.S. citizens and Legal Residences. Non-U.S. citizens must provide documentation with their application varifying their Legal Residence status (e.g. Green Card).

    Refund Policy

    • Withdraw before 2nd class: 100% refund
    • Withdraw before 3rd class: 75% refund
    • Withdraw after 3rd class: NO REFUND
    • All refunds are subject to a $40.00 processing fee.
