| CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF HELEN CLOUSE |
The Jacobs School staff, faculty, students, and alumni mourn the loss of Mrs. Helen Clouse, who died peacefully on September 2, 2007. Through her 47 years of dedication, love, and service to the IU Jacobs School of Music, Helen touched the lives of generations of students, creating a bond that continues well beyond graduation. | A SPECTACULAR SEASON OPENS THIS MONTH |
The Jacobs School of Music continues its tradition of welcoming some of the world's most illustrious musicians–both in residence and as guests–and presenting new and legendary music. The 2007-2008 season opens this Saturday, September 8, with a concert by the Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by David Effron. André Watts join the orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's "'Emperor" Concerto.

DAVID DZUBAY WINS PRESTIGIOUS COMPOSITION TITLE |
David Dzubay, composer and professor of music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, took home first prize in the 2007 Indiana State University Contemporary Music Festival/Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra Composition Competition.

"LIFE GOES ON": A NEW DON FREUND CD |
The Jacobs School announces the release of Life Goes On, a CD on the IUMusic label by composition professor Don Freund that spans 25 years of the artist's output for violin. Featured on the recordings is Performance Diploma virtuoso Steven Moeckel–currently concertmaster of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra–with the composer as pianist.
