LAREDO AND ROBINSON TO APPEAR ON 'A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION' SATURDAY

Laredo-Robinson Indiana University Jacobs School of Music faculty Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson will appear in a live edition of Public Radio International's "A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor" on Saturday (June 30). The live broadcast will be from the Koussevitzy Music Shed at Tanglewood, in Lenox, Mass., on Saturday at 6 p.m. EST. Click here for more>>

SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL ALERT!
ARNALDO COHEN TO PERFORM MONDAY NIGHT

Arnaldo Cohen The Jacobs School of Music announces that faculty member André Watts is unable to perform in the IU Summer Music Festival chamber music recitals originally scheduled for July 2 and 3. The Bloomington concerts planned for Monday and Tuesday evening with clarinetist David Shifrin and cellist Peter Wiley have therefore been cancelled. In place of the concerts, the Jacobs School is delighted to announce that internationally recognized pianist and Jacobs School faculty member Arnaldo Cohen has agreed on short notice to perform a full-length piano recital on Monday, July 2, at 8pm. This will mark the first time Professor Cohen has performed a solo recital in Bloomington. Click here for more >>

BUCH NAMED FINALIST IN WORLDWIDE COMPOSITION COMPETITION

Brian BuchIU Jacobs School of Music student Brian Buch has been named one of the finalists in the 2007 Queen Elisabeth Composition Competition in Brussels. Buch's piece, Prayer for an Unnamed Grave, was one of five scores selected from 165 compositions on five continents.  Click here for more >>

Beaux Arts TrioThe IU Summer Music Festival is red hot! Don’t miss the popular Biava Quartet with String Academy faculty tonight or the Festival Orchestra Chamber Ensemble tomorrow night, followed by sensational violinist Soovin Kim performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the String Academy Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, and pianist Jeannette Koekkoek and the Biava Quartet joining in for the rest of the concert. On Monday, in addition to Arnaldo Cohen filling in for the Watts-Shifrin-Wiley Trio, enjoy Edward Auer’s performance of Chopin’s Complete Nocturnes. While Tuesday sees the cancellation of the W-S-W Trio, you still have a chance to hear great music during Junghwa Moon’s piano recital. The Beaux Arts Trio, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Weiss-Kaplan-Newman Trio keep things sizzling throughout the following week. Be sure to get your tickets now before more events sell out!
