AND THE GRAMMY GOES TO …

Beax Arts Trio With one legendary faculty member and a host of alums competing, the Jacobs School will be heavily represented at the annual Grammy Awards ceremony to be held on February 11. This year's list of Grammy nominations includes a recording made at IU's Auer Hall by Distinguished Professor of Music Menahem Pressler and his Beaux Arts Trio, as well as an album featuring the talents of four acclaimed IU jazz alums, among others. Dee StewartAfter “a long winter’s nap,” the Jacobs School of Music kicks off its spring semester on Friday, January 12, with a recital by the Trombone Faculty, followed by Concentus and the IU Children’s Choir on the 13th, and pianist and faculty member Jean Louis Haguenauer on the 14th. Mark your calendars now for the IU Philharmonic Orchestra as it begins its spring schedule on January 24, and for IU Opera Theater’s double-bill production of Arlecchino and Too Many Sopranos on February 2, 3, 9, and 10. This is only the beginning of a semester filled with operatic, orchestral, chamber, choral, jazz, and band performances, plus so much more!
