JACOBS LAUNCHES INAUGURAL PODCAST

IU PodcastingThe Jacobs School launched its inaugural audio and video podcast project this week, which includes performances by violinist Joshua Bell, conductor Michael Stern, and the Beaux Arts Trio, and showcases three recent IU Opera Theater productions. LAREDO & ROBINSON ARE FEATURED WITH THE INDIANAPOLIS SYMPHONY IN BLOOMINGTON

laredo and robinson Following its acclaimed performance last year, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) will return to Bloomington this Sunday (Nov. 12) with a program featuring Jacobs School of Music faculty members Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson. Laredo, violin, and Robinson, cello, will perform the popular Double Concerto in A Minor by Johannes Brahms. The free offering at 3 pm in the Musical Arts Center will be conducted by the ISO's Music Director Mario Venzago. Tickets are required and may be obtained from the MAC box office, 855-7433

The witching hour is almost here, as Hansel and Gretel prepares to open tonight at the MAC! Make it a symphonic Sunday afternoon with the Classical Orchestra, directed by Stanley Ritchie, in Auer Hall, followed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in the MAC, before the Brass Choir sends this weekend out with fanfare Sunday evening. Enjoy two special treats Monday when the Jazz Ensembles perform Live & Free at the MAC, then music by P.Q. Phan is featured in faculty recital. Jacobs is proud to bring you all this and much more for your entertainment pleasure!
