| HURRICANE KATRINA ANNIVERSARY BENEFIT CONCERT |

Meet the stars of tomorrow as voice students from the tri-state region of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana all vie for the coveted chance to sing on the Metropolitan Opera stage and win the grand prize! The competition begins Saturday, October 28, at 10am in the MAC. It’s free and the public is encouraged to attend. Last year, Jacobs alumnus Jordan Bisch was one of four grand-prize winners in New York. The Jacobs School of Music has had 33 grand winners overall: five of them in the last five years. Concert-goers continue to reap the benefits from the rich harvest of events at the Jacobs School. Enjoying the Classical Wind Chamber Music and Baroque Orchestra tomorrow evening, October 14, is a perfect way to spend a chilly fall evening. Show your support for Hurricane Katrina victims by attending the benefit in their honor this Sunday, October 15, finishing in plenty of time to catch the University Orchestra later that day. The Motet Choir kicks the school and work week off Monday night, with the Jazz Combo, Chamber Orchestra, and Brass Choir following on sequential evenings. Come out and enjoy the cornucopia right in your own back yard! |
