We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the five IU Jacobs School of Music students who lost their lives just before midnight on April 20, 2006. A Web site has been created to memorialize how, in their unique ways, the five extraordinary musicians touched and transformed the lives of many around them.

| BROWNLEE RECEIVES RICHARD TUCKER AWARD |
IU Jacobs School of Music alumnus Lawrence Brownlee recently received a call that most emerging world-class singers only dream of—a call from the Richard Tucker Music Foundation, announcing that he has just been named the 2006 winner of the Richard Tucker Award.

| JACOBS FACULTY RECEIVE HONORS |
David Baker, David Effron, Jaime Laredo, Menahem Pressler, Gwyn Richards, and Janos Starker will all receive honorary doctoral degrees in various commencement ceremonies this month, while the Hollywood Bowl will induct André Watts into its Hall of Fame on June 23.
