ANNOUNCING THE INDIANA UNIVERSITY JACOBS SCHOOL OF MUSIC

VIRTUOSO VIOLINIST ALEXANDER KERR TO JOIN JACOBS SCHOOL |
The School of Music announced November 11 that virtuoso violinist Alexander Kerr will join its faculty ranks, pending approval of the IU Board of Trustees. Kerr comes to IU from the famed Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, where he is concertmaster. He joins violinists Mark Kaplan and Jaime Laredo, cellist Sharon Robinson, and violist Yuval Gotlibovich as recent appointments to IU's renowned String Department.

UPCOMING EVENTS |
You still have time to catch some great concerts at the Jacobs School of Music before Thanksgiving break. John Poole conducts the Symphonic Choir in the Brahms Requiem November 20 at 8pm in Auer Hall while students conduct the Concert Orchestra at the same time in the MAC. The All-Campus Orchestra performs at 7pm November 21 in Recital Hall followed by the All-Campus Band at 8pm in the MAC. After a brief break, the Latin American Popular Music Ensemble kicks off the rest of this semester with their November 29, 8pm, Auer Hall concert. Upcoming highlights include Jan Harrington conducting the IU Singers and Chamber Orchestra in Joseph Haydn’s Die Jahreszeiten in honor of Professor Emeritus Thomas Dunn’s 80 th birthday, December 4 at 8pm in Auer Hall.
