Summer Opera Workshop

For present, former, and incoming Jacobs School of Music voice students.

Cost: $430
 

This workshop is designed for IU Jacobs School of Music Singers who want to improve their stage-craft and gain more confidence as singing actors.

The workshop will include two days of exercises in acting and in stage movement and deportment followed by intensive musical and staging rehearsals of the assigned scenes. Each singer will be involved in at least two scenes portraying contrasting character types. The scenes will be assigned upon full enrollment.

All singers will participate in audition training sessions when not in musical/staging sessions.

Important Workshop Information
  • Maximum enrollment: 20 students, on a first come first served basis.

  • Pre-requisite: All workshop applicants must be associated with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as a former, current, or incoming student.


The Jacobs School of Music reserves the right to cancel a workshop if enrollment is not met. Should this occur, participants will be informed and receive a full refund of application fee and tuition.
