Throughout its history, LAPME has benefited from the experience of several directors, such as José Mariano Morales Matos, Andrew Lázaro, Marcos Cavalcante, Gerardo Dirié, Gustavo Bugni and Ricardo Lorenz.
Every year, LAPME brings top names in Latin American music to perform with and coach the ensemble - past guests include musicians such as Tito Puente, Aquiles Báez, Jorge Gomez and Pablo Ziegler among many others.
In order to perform an extended and large variety of repertoire from Latin American, the LAPME often receives as guests faculty from Indiana University in addition to having its own arranger/composer in residency.
The LAPME has its own performing library with original music and arrangements especially crafted for the ensemble. If you would like to know more about the library, please contact us.
