Early Music Institute Fund

(est. 1989) The Early Music Institute was established in 1980 at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. IU invited Thomas Binkley to Bloomington to set up an Early Music Program. Prior to this, Binkley had been on the faculties of Stanford University and the Schola Cantorum of Basel, Switzerland, where he founded and performed with the Studio der Fruhen Musik, one of the first Early Music ensembles to gain critical recognition around the world. The Early Music Institute has three specified missions: 1) Teaching; 2) Research and Creative Activity; and 3) Outreach, or Dissemination of Research and Creative Activity.

The Early Music Institute Fund is used for the general support of the Early Music Institute.
