1. Where do I find out my studio or office assignment?
The Facilities office in M031, in the basement of Simon Hall.
2. Where do I get a key to the room?
Authorization to check out a key is initiated by the office of the Executive Associate Dean by email only to the Facilities office, where keys are issued. The Facilities office is located in M031, in the basement of Simon Hall.
3. How do I find my university ID number and obtain information about payroll and benefits?
Contact the Jacobs School of Music Human Resources Coordinator, Joyce Leonard, at (812) 855-1173 or jolleona@indiana.edu. You will need to visit her in Sycamore Hall 243 (the building to the west of Merrill Hall) to fill out important paperwork, and at that time she will give you your university ID number. If you are a US citizen, please bring your US passport or birth certificate plus your driver’s license, or your US social security card plus your driver’s license. If you are not a US citizen, please bring your passport, all immigration documentation, and your US social security card, if you have one.
4. How do I set up an IU e-mail account?
Go to the Accounts Managements Services at: https://itaccounts.iu.edu/ and follow the instructions. You will be required to submit your ID number. The user name and password are also used to log on to all IU accounts, such as OneStart and Oncourse, so it is important to set this up as soon as possible. You will need them to access rosters, grades, and your email. If you prefer, you can get assistance setting up your account in person at the Information Commons on the first floor of the Main Library, 1320 E. Tenth Street
5. How do I find out about insurance and benefits?
On August 1st, University Human Resources will send you a large packet of information, with complete details about health plans, retirement, and other benefits. It will be sent to the Jacobs School of Music, NOT your home address. Your university health benefit coverage will begin on August 1st, provided you enroll in an IU health plan by October 1st. The packet will also include information and dates for Benefit Program Orientation Sessions for faculty. Please check with the Jacobs School of Music Human Resources Coordinator, Joyce Leonard, at 855-1173 (Sycamore Hall 243, jolleona@indiana.edu) to obtain the benefits packet.
6. How do I get a parking pass?
Permits can be obtained at the Parking Operations Office, 310 S. Fess Ave., 855-9848 (Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday) or online at http://www.parking.indiana.edu/.
7. Where do I get a University ID card?
You can obtain your identification card at one of the Campus Card Services offices; either at the IU Memorial Union, Mezzanine level (855-1711) or the IU Bookstore in Eigenmann Hall (1910 E. Tenth Street, 855-8711). You will need to bring a photo ID and your ten digit University ID number.
8. When will I receive my first paycheck?
Your first IU paycheck will be issued at the end of August (your appointment began August 1), and will equal one-tenth of your total 10-month base salary, less deductions and withholding.
9. Where are the mailboxes in the school?
Mailboxes are located in Clouse’s Lounge, the lobby between the Music Annex and Merrill Hall. There are drop-off slots for campus mail and stamped, personal mail. Regular postal service, such as purchasing stamps, is not available.
10. How do I find a list of my students?
Go to Onestart; click the “Login” button and enter your username and password. Click on the brown “Services” tab at the top, then the “Faculty Systems” bar on the left. Click on “Faculty Center” (under the red SIS letters). Your classes will appear; click on the Class Roster link toward the left.
11. Where do I find out about computer resources?
