Dean Gwyn Richards

Gwyn Richards, Dean
Gwyn Richards was appointed dean in 2001, having served as interim dean since 1999. Dean Richards has two music degrees from the University of Michigan. His field is choral conducting, and he is a tenured professor in that department.

Eugene O'Brien, Executive Associate Dean
Prior to being appointed Executive Associate Dean in 2002, Dean O'Brien--an accomplished composer and member of the New Music Ensemble--served as the Jacobs School of Music's Associate Dean for Instruction. Dean O'Brien is a tenured professor in the composition department, has received many prestigious awards and honors, and has had numerous compositions published and recorded.

Lissa May, Associate Dean for Instruction
Lissa May, former Director of Undergraduate Studies, was appointed Associate Dean for Instruction in 2015. Dean May, a tenured professor in the music education department, remains active as a guest conductor and clinician, and has published numerous articles and book chapters.
