66th Season to Begin in August
Posted on Friday May 29, 2015

As we begin our 66th season, we are excited to announce our continued association with Ly Wilder, who has been appointed Director of the Singing Hoosiers for 2015-16. She has served as our Assistant Director since 2012, and continues in her role as the Jazz Voice instructor at IU, working with private students and assisting with the vocal jazz ensembles.  She is sought after in both the vocal jazz and show choir fields and will be conducting the Indiana, Washington and Illinois All-State vocal jazz ensembles in 2015-17 in addition to her work at IU.  She continues to serve on the staff of Showchoir Camps of America and writes arrangements for her own ensembles as well as groups throughout the nation.

In addition, we have the great pleasure of welcoming Duane Davis as the Associate Director of Singing Hoosiers and as the Director of IU Vocal Jazz Ensembles for 2015-16.  He continues to bring his sublime musicality and infectious laughter to Singing Hoosiers after sharing his talents with us this past year.  He is sought after the world over as a clinician and conductor and recently retired as the Chorus Master for Opera Grand Rapids after 31 years.  In addition, he taught on the faculties of Western Michigan University and Grand Rapids Community College, conducting premiere collegiate vocal jazz ensembles Gold Company and Shades of Blue.  His groups have performed at festivals and conferences internationally and he continues to be active as an arranger in both vocal jazz and orchestral settings.
