  • Mihajlo Djordjevic (PD Undergraduate) won Donald Neal Memorial Award in the Bloomington Chapter of the 2013 National Society of Arts and Letters instrumental competitions held at the Jacobs School of Music

  • Nemanja Ostojic (DM student) won 2nd Prize at the 2010 JoAnn Falletta Guitar Concerto Competition
  • Efrain Hoyos (DM student) won Special Prize "Mention of Honor" at the V International Competition for young guitarists COMPENSAR in Bogota, Columbia
  • Stevan Jovic won First Prize (Pyle Prize), and Jonathan Godfrey won Second Prize (Pyle Prize) at the Matinee Musicale Indianapolis 2010 Competition
  • Jonathan Godfrey won McDonald Merit Award at NSAL Instrumental Music Contestants
  • Erol Ozsever and Jonathan Godfrey won 2nd Prize Ex Aequo at 2010 Annual Competition in the Performance of Music from Spain and Latin America

  • Daniel Bolshoy won  Debut Atlantic tour of Canadian Maritime provinces (and recording for CBC radio)

  • Hector Corrada won 2nd prize at M.T.N.A competition and Espen Jensen and Ramsue Lopez, won 1st. Prize (Aex-equo) in the open category of the Forth Annual Competition in the Performance of Music from Spain and  Latin America;  Espen Jensen won 1st Prize at Indianapolis Matinee Musicale; Daniel Bolshoy won 1st Prize at MTNA and 2nd Prize in Porland
2000
  • Former junior IU guitar student Alexander Tsiboulski won 1st Prize at the Australian Guitar Competition; Nick Ciraldo won 2nd Prize at M.T.N.A.
1999
  • Atanas Tzvetkov won 1st Prize at the Second Annual Competition in the Performance of Music from Spain and  Latin America (open category); Carlos Saavedra won 2nd Prize at M.T.N.A.; Denis Azabagicwon 1st Prizes at Stotensberg Competition and Allentown Symphony Competition

Ponce Competition in Mexico and 1st Prize at First Annual Competition in the Performance of Music from Spain and  Latin America; Carlos Saavedra won 1st Prize at Indianapolis Matinee Musicale; Denis Azabagic won 1st Prize at Guitar Foundation of America Competition
