Undergraduate Audition Requirements

Bachelor of Music (B.M.)
Exposition of a Mozart or Strauss concerto or equivalent solo from the candidate's current repertoire
Four contrasting orchestral excerpts
Major scales up to 4 sharps and flats, covering two or more octaves as possible.
Candidates may also be asked to demonstrate sight-reading abilities.

Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.)
Exposition of a Mozart or Strauss concerto or equivalent solo from the candidate's current repertoire
Two etudes, or sections of two etudes of contrasting character.
Major scales up to 4 sharps and flats, covering two or more octaves as possible.
Candidates may also be asked to demonstrate sight-reading abilities.

Bachelor of Science in Music and an Outside Field (B.S.O.F.)
Exposition of a Mozart or Strauss concerto or equivalent solo from the candidate's current repertoire
Two etudes, or sections of two etudes of contrasting character OR Four contrasting orchestra excerpts
Major scales up to 4 sharps and flats, covering two or more octaves as possible.
Candidates may also be asked to demonstrate sight-reading abilities.


Graduate Audition Requirements

Master of Music (M.M.) and Performer’s Diploma (P.D.)
Exposition of a Mozart or Strauss concerto or equivalent solo from the candidate's current repertoire
Six contrasting orchestral excerpts.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate all major and minor scales, covering two or more octaves as possible.
Candidates may also be asked to demonstrate sight-reading ability.

Doctor of Music (D.M.) in Music Literature and Performance
Doctoral applicants should expect a 20-25 minute audition/interview with the same requirements as MM and PD, but with at least two contrasting solo pieces and a wider range of orchestral excerpts.
