Degree Programs
The graduate programs offer outstanding opportunities for advanced training in various subdisciplines of music theory. Qualified students pursue programs leading to the M.M. and Ph.D. degrees, or to a combined master’s program of music theory and library science. Minor fields of study include music history and literature and a choice of a rich assortment of programs both inside and outside the Jacobs School of Music. Plans of study are designed to accommodate individual interests and provide ample opportunity for research and performance activities.
