Elective Ballet ProgramThe IU Ballet Department is happy to offer ballet classes for levels Beginner through Advanced to students across the IU campus. Teachers are from the IU Ballet Department's Majors' Program who student pedagogy under Rory Foster, former American Ballet Theater dancer and current author of The Art of Teaching. Classes take place in the Ballet Deparmtment from 8am to 11am and 5:45pm to 8:30pm. Schedules can be obtained through the Schedule of Classes and are listed under the Jacobs School of Music. For undergraduates the course is MUS-J100 and for graduate students, MUS-J700. There is no audition or placement class for elective ballet classes. All students wishing to participate in any elective ballet class must officially register as the Jacobs School of Music does not allow auditing of MUS-J100 or MUS-J700.
