The Jacobs School of Music is preparing for its 100th anniversary in 2010, and we as alumni want to play a big role in marking this historic occasion!  We welcome individuals with a love for the Jacobs School and a commitment to volunteer service – either on the board or as a local alumni ambassador – to contact us about joining our exciting efforts.

If you are interested in serving your alma mater and making an impact on the future of the Jacobs School and its more than 14,000 alumni around the world, we want to hear from you!  Right now, the Jacobs School of Music Alumni Board is actively recruiting high-energy, motivated, and dedicated alumni leaders to join our organization.  In particular, we are most interested in candidates that represent one of the following departments or fields of study within the school to more accurately represent the rich diversity of the institution:

  • music theory/musicology
  • strings
  • piano
  • jazz
  • ballet

The Jacobs School of Music Alumni Board of Directors serves as the leadership body for the Jacobs School Alumni Association, which strives to be a vehicle for its alumni to support and promote the institution, and assist the school in maintaining and enhancing its position as one of the most eminent schools of music in the world.  Members of the Alumni Board serve a three-year term, meet twice a year on the Bloomington campus, and are strongly encouraged to commit approximately three to five hours per month toward their board service.

Please contact Melissa Korzec immediately at (812) 855-4656 or mkorzec@indiana.edu  if you'd like to be considered for this opportunity!
