How to Apply

 

All applications must be received by December 1, 2008 to be considered for Fall 2009.

Please note that the Indiana University requires an application fee for domestic students of $50 and $60 for international students.  The Indiana University application fee is in addition to the Jacobs School of Music application fee of $65.  All application fees are non-refundable.

Please review carefully all requirements for each area to be considered for an audition and admission, as some areas require pre-screening recordings or portfolio materials.

- All undergraduate students must apply to the Indiana University before applying to the
  Jacobs School of Music. 

- All graduate students must apply to the Indiana University Graduate School before
  applying to the Jacobs School of Music.

 

Step 1

Complete the Undergraduate Indiana University Application* , or the Graduate Indiana University Application.

Step 2

The Online Application is now closed for Fall 2008 enrollment. We will open for Fall 2009 enrollment later this summer. If you wish to fill out a hardcopy application for Fall 2008 enrollment you may still complete one of the following: 2007-2008 Undergraduate Application (PDF) or the 2007-2008 Graduate Application (PDF).

Step 3

Completed materials, those not submitted online, must be received by December 1, 2008 and should be sent to:

The music application fee (if not paid online) must be made payable to Indiana University, and should be accompanied by the following information:

    • Full name
    • Social Security number
    • Birth date
    • Degree program to which you are applying
    • Semester in which you hope to begin your studies

 

If unable to complete the Jacobs School of Music online application: 

   

 

*If you are a transfer student please follow the application process for undergraduate students and submit original transcripts from each college previously attended to both the Office of Music Admissions and to the Indiana University Office of Admissions.
